Introduction

Valuebridge Inc., doing business as Teemyo ("we," "our," or "us"), is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share information when you use the Teemyo application ("App").

By using our App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use the App.

Account Information:

  • User handle and display name
  • Phone number (for authentication via Clerk)
  • Profile information you choose to share

Contact Information:

  • Phone numbers and names from your device's contact book (with your permission)
  • This information is used to identify conversation participants

1.2 Audio and Communication Content

Voice Recordings:

  • Audio recordings of conversations you create using our app
  • These recordings are stored locally on your device and optionally uploaded to our secure cloud storage
  • Duration, file size, and metadata associated with recordings

Conversation Data:

  • Participant information (phone numbers, user IDs)
  • Conversation timestamps and duration
  • Upload status and processing metadata

Transcripts and AI-Generated Content:

  • Speech-to-text transcripts of your recordings (processed via Deepgram)
  • AI-generated summaries and tags (processed via Claude AI)

Your Recording Consent Responsibility: By using our recording features, you acknowledge that:

  • You are solely responsible for obtaining consent from all participants before recording
  • Recording laws vary by jurisdiction; some require all-party consent
  • Teemyo is not responsible for your compliance with recording consent laws
  • See our Terms of Service "Recording Consent and Legal Compliance" section for details

1.3 Technical and Usage Information

Device Information:

  • Device type, operating system, and app version
  • Unique device identifiers
  • App usage patterns and feature interactions

App Permissions:

  • Microphone access for recording audio
  • Contact access for participant identification
  • Notification permissions for app alerts
  • Storage access for saving recordings

Error and Performance Data:

  • Crash reports and error logs
  • Performance metrics and usage analytics
  • API usage statistics for cost optimization

Analytics and Tracking:

  • We use PostHog for product analytics to understand how users interact with our app
  • PostHog collects usage data, feature interactions, and anonymized behavioral analytics
  • This helps us improve user experience and identify areas for enhancement

Cookies and Similar Technologies:

  • Our website and app may use cookies and similar tracking technologies

1.4 Biometric Information Disclosure

Voice Recordings and Biometrics: While we collect voice recordings, we do NOT use voice data for:

  • Voiceprint identification or authentication
  • Biometric identification purposes
  • Facial recognition or other biometric analysis

Your voice recordings are processed solely for transcription and summarization purposes. We do not create, store, or use biometric identifiers or biometric information as defined under state biometric privacy laws (including the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act).

If you are an Illinois resident: We do not collect biometric identifiers or biometric information as defined under BIPA (740 ILCS 14).

1.5 Sensitive Personal Information

Your voice recordings and transcripts may incidentally reveal sensitive information, including:

  • Health information discussed in conversations
  • Financial information
  • Religious or political views
  • Private communications

How We Handle Sensitive Information:

  • We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information
  • We do not use AI to extract or categorize sensitive information
  • Sensitive information in recordings is processed only for transcription/summarization
  • We do not share sensitive information with third parties for their own purposes
  • You can delete recordings containing sensitive information at any time

2. How We Use Your Information

2.1 Core App Functionality

  • Enable voice memo and conversation recording capabilities
  • Process audio content to generate transcripts and summaries
  • Identify conversation participants using your contact information
  • Store and organize your conversations and related content
  • Provide user authentication and account management

2.2 Service Improvement

  • Analyze usage patterns to improve app performance and features
  • Monitor and optimize AI processing costs and efficiency
  • Debug and resolve technical issues and errors
  • Develop new features based on user needs and feedback

2.3 Communication

  • Send app notifications about conversation status and updates
  • Provide customer support and respond to your inquiries
  • Notify you of important updates to our Service or policies

3. Data Sharing and Third Parties

3.1 Third-Party Service Providers

We work with trusted third-party providers to deliver our Service:

Clerk:

  • Provides user authentication and identity management
  • Handles user authentication, phone number verification, and session management

Google Cloud Storage:

  • Stores audio recordings and processed content
  • Provides secure, encrypted cloud storage infrastructure

Deepgram:

  • Processes audio recordings to generate speech-to-text transcripts
  • Audio data is processed securely and not retained by Deepgram

Claude AI (Anthropic):

  • Processes transcripts to generate summaries, tags, and content analysis
  • Text data is processed according to Anthropic's privacy standards
  • Your data is NOT used to train Claude AI models - We have opted out of data retention for model training

Temporal:

  • Orchestrates backend workflow processing for audio and content generation
  • Handles task scheduling and processing coordination
  • Self-hosted infrastructure

PostHog:

  • Provides product analytics and user behavior tracking
  • Helps us understand feature usage and improve user experience
  • Data is processed according to PostHog's privacy standards
  • Location: United States

3.2 Data Processing Purposes

  • Audio transcription services process your recordings to create text transcripts
  • AI analysis services process transcripts to generate summaries and insights
  • Cloud storage services securely store your content and backups

3.3 No Sale of Personal Data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their commercial purposes.

3.4 AI Model Training

Your data is NOT used to train AI models. Specifically:

  • Your voice recordings, transcripts, and conversation content are NOT used to train Claude AI or any other AI models
  • We have configured our AI service providers to prevent your data from being used for model training or improvement
  • Your data is only processed to provide you with the specific features you requested (transcription, summaries, etc.)
  • Third-party AI providers process your data solely for service delivery and do not retain it for training purposes

3.5 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.

3.6 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user information may be transferred as part of the transaction.

4. Data Security and Storage

4.1 Security Measures

We implement the following security measures to protect your data:

  • Encryption in transit: All data transmissions use HTTPS/TLS encryption
  • Encryption at rest: Audio files and sensitive data stored in Google Cloud Storage are encrypted at rest
  • Secure authentication: User authentication through Clerk with industry-standard protocols
  • API security: All API endpoints require token-based authorization
  • Access controls: Data access is limited to authorized systems and personnel

While no security measures are 100% effective, we work to protect your data using industry-standard practices.

4.2 Data Retention

  • Active conversations are retained while you use the Service
  • Audio recordings are kept until you choose to delete them
  • Transcripts and summaries are retained to provide ongoing access to your content
  • Account data is retained while your account is active
  • Usage analytics are retained for up to 2 years for service improvement

4.3 Data Location and Transfers

  • Your data is primarily stored in the United States
  • Third-party processors may handle data in accordance with their privacy policies
  • International transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards

4.4 Data Breach Notification

In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information:

  • We will notify affected users within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach, in compliance with GDPR requirements
  • Notifications will include the nature of the breach, the types of data affected, and steps we are taking to address it
  • We will also notify relevant supervisory authorities as required by applicable laws
  • We will provide guidance on steps you can take to protect yourself
  • We maintain an incident response plan to quickly identify, contain, and remediate security incidents

5. Your Rights and Choices

5.1 Access and Control

  • View your data: Access your conversations, transcripts, and account information through the app
  • Delete content: Remove individual conversations, recordings, or your entire account
  • Export data: Request a copy of your personal data in a portable format
  • Correct information: Update your profile and account information

5.2 Communication Preferences

  • Notification settings: Control which app notifications you receive
  • Marketing communications: Opt out of promotional messages (if applicable)

5.3 Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time through the app settings. Upon account deletion:

  • Your profile and account data will be permanently removed within 90 days of your deletion request
  • Your conversations and recordings will be deleted from our systems within this timeframe
  • Active backups may be retained for up to 90 days before complete deletion
  • Some data may be retained for legal, security, or compliance purposes as required by law (e.g., financial records, legal disputes)

6. Children's Privacy

Our Service is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you are between 13 and 18 years old, you must have parental or guardian consent to use the Service.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us so we can delete such information.

7. International Data Transfers

If you are located outside the United States, please note that your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where our servers and service providers are located.

7.1 Legal Safeguards for International Transfers

We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for international data transfers:

  • Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs): For transfers of EU personal data to the United States, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission
  • Third-party compliance: Our service providers (Google Cloud, Clerk, Deepgram, Anthropic, PostHog) have implemented appropriate safeguards for international data transfers, including SCCs where applicable
  • Adequate security measures: All international transfers are protected by encryption and security measures described in Section 4.1
  • GDPR compliance: Transfers are conducted in accordance with GDPR Chapter V requirements

7.2 Your Consent

By using our Service, you acknowledge and consent to the transfer of your data to the United States and other countries where our service providers operate, subject to the safeguards described above.

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

  • Right to know what personal information we collect and how it's used
  • Right to delete your personal information
  • Right to opt-out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information)
